Buying
a perfect house at a competitive price: Marguerite
represented us when we bought our current house in Carlisle, helping
us get the house we wanted at a competitive price during the 1999
hot seller’s market. She provided us with a customized selling
activity report and described sold houses on that report, to come up
with a fair offering price. She advised us during negotiations,
competing with another buyer. Once our offer was accepted, she
introduced us to a mortgage broker where we got a better mortgage
for our needs.
Selling
a house for $45,000 more than
we expected: Once our new house in Carlisle was under
agreement, we approached a number of the Bedford-based realtors
looking for help selling our old house in Bedford. We expected that
a local realtor would be best for getting the best price for our old
house. We also asked Marguerite for her opinion about what our
Bedford house was worth. Marguerite’s assessment of our house was
$50,000 more than what we thought was a fair market price and
$100,000 more than the local realtor’s recommendation for an
asking price! Under Marguerite’s guidance, we invested under
$10,000, making minor repairs, moving furniture and putting things
in storage. And then sold our Bedford house for $5,000 under
asking!!! That’s $45,000 more than we expected. Hey, she more than
